About the Poet (কবি পরিচিত):-
John Clare (1793-1864) was an English poet famous for his celebratory representations of the English countryside and his lamentation of its disruption. Some of his notable collections of poetry are First Love, Snow Storm, The Village Minstrel and Other Poems etc. (জন ক্লেয়ার (1793-1864) একজন ইংরেজ কবি ছিলেন যিনি ব্রিটিশ গ্রামাঞ্চলের উদযাপনমূলক উপস্থাপনা এবং এর ব্যাঘাতের কারনে বিলাপের জন্য বিখ্যাত ছিলেন। তার কয়েকটি উল্লেখযোগ্য কবিতা সংকলন হলো First Love, Snow Storm, The Village Minstrel এবং অন্যান্য কবিতা ইত্যাদি।
The following poem presents a pen-picture of the mellow beauty of autumn in the countryside. As this season comes just before winter, it is characterized by falling leaves, bare branches and strong winds. আমি ভালোবাসি অনিয়মিত দমকা হাওয়া যা কাঁপায়
সারাদিন খোলা জানলাকে,
এবং শ্যাওলা ধরা এলম গাছ থেকে
বিবর্ণ পাতা যায় ঝরে,
ঘুরপাক খায় জানলার শার্সির ধারে
আরও হাজারে হাজারে পরে আছে সুরু পথ জুড়ে।
আমি দেখতে ভালোবাসি গাছের কম্পিত শাখা
যারা সন্ধ্যাকাল বন্ধ হওয়ার আগে পর্যন্ত নাচে
আর বাড়ির কার্নিশে চড়ুই পাখিটি
যার কিচিরমিচির ডাক বিশ্বাস আনে

এই রকমই কোনো এক নিস্তেজ নভেম্বরের দিনে;
গোবরের ঢিপির উপরে মোরগ ডাকে,
হাওয়া কল ঘোরে চলে ঊষর প্রান্তরে।
দাঁড় কাকের বুক থেকে পালকগুলি
খসে পড়ের ফসল তোলা মাঠের উপরে,
ওক ফলগুলি বুড়ো কাকের বাসার কাছ থেকে
টুপ টুপ করে পড়ে গাছের তলে;
ঘোঁৎ ঘোঁৎ শব্দ করে শূকরগুলি, যারা সবাই অপেক্ষা করে,
হুড়োহুড়ি করে এবং দ্রুত ছুটে যায় যেখানে ফলগুলি পড়ে।
